THE VALUES OF OLYMPISM IN THE YVELINES COLLEGES

On the recommendations of the CNOSF, and with the support of its institutional partners, the Yvelines Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee actively participated in the promotion of the Paris 2024 bid, by presenting a fun and travelling exhibition on the values and symbols of Olympism. The feature film "La couleur de la victoire", which looks back at the career of African-American athlete Jesse Owens, and the preparations for the 1936 Berlin Games organized by the Nazi regime in power, was also screened.

During 2017, 16 stages were organized in places as diverse as the Town Hall, the Sports Palace, the gymnasium, the courtyard, the associations forum, in a private company... With their supervision, more than 4,500 pupils and secondary school pupils visited and participated in the thematic workshops linked to this event.

For the year 2018 (and the following years!), following the choice of Paris for the organization of the 2024 Games, the goal is to propose this exhibition in the enclosure of 30 colleges of the Department of Yvelines, avoiding the collective transport of schoolboys generating difficulties of organization.

With the active participation of the Académie de Versailles, this presentation will be implemented directly in schools. In addition to the values and symbols of Olympism, this 2018 version will also promote the Paralympic Games and the future Olympic venues in Yvelines for the 2024 Games.
